Dan Gross | 'Fired,' Erin gets TV gig

LOCAL "Apprentice" reject Erin Elmore starts Monday as a TV reporter in Jacksonville, Fla.

The lawyer/model will spend a month working on a tryout basis at NBC affiliate WTLV's First Coast News. If she and the station are pleased, she may be offered a full-time role, says station president Ken Tonning.

For some reason the already- hot Elmore is going to be made over for the new job for a piece in In Touch magazine.

Elmore and her longtime boyfriend, Eric Henry, an attorney who is a Marine veteran of the war in Iraq, will do the long-distance thing for the month.

'Twisted Sister' return to town

"Twisted Sister's" Dee Snider says he pushed for Our Town as the site for a concert to raise money for the band's soundman and friend, Charlie Barrecca, who needs a liver transplant. The July 15 show is at the Electric Factory (7th & Willow). Tickets are $30 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through Ticketmaster.

Snider now hosts an evening show on 93.3 WMMR. The band last rocked here 20 years ago in a sold-out gig at the Spectrum.

Snider says don't expect the band to reinvent itself. "We know it's an oldies show, man, and we're looking forward to it," he says.

The band's got upcoming gigs in Germany and South America.

In first grade, for Halloween, we tried to dress up as Snider, as he appears on the cover of "Stay Hungry," but the costume was far too elaborate, as pink leather is, or at least was, difficult to find.

'Riddler,' 'Fish,'

to film in A.C.

Director Brian Cavallaro and producer Sal Mazzotta are getting ready to start shooting "The Unknown: Frankie the Squirrel" in Atlantic City. Mazzotta, who will also star, says the project is in the vein of "The Twilight Zone."

Mazzotta's not sure if they're working on pilot of a TV series, or a series of short films to be compiled for DVD release.

Actors slated to film May 9-14 are Frank Gorshin, Abe Vigoda, "Sopranos" alum David Proval, Johnny "Roastbeef" Williams. and Doylestown "Am-erican Idol" Justin Guarini.

Couzin Ed's good cause

Appetizers and cocktails are available at the party, running from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The hanging art is available for silent auction.

The charity works to eliminate the euthanizing of adoptable pets and to increase the spay/neuter rates in the city. For tickets, which are $30 in advance (or $35 at the door), call 215-218-9212 or visit www.peoplepetpartnership.com.
